Te Huia at Whangarei Heads
Te Huia is an architectural, contemporary retreat fitted out with a light, fresh Scandinavian touch. Located on 60 acres of regenerating coastal farmland with huge views of the Pacific and beyond. Gaze upon The Poor Knights Islands that float on the horizon.
The colourful and original artworks add that special touch to this bespoke retreat. Te Huia delivers comfort and cosiness. Heated bathroom floors and fluffy towels only add to this feeling.
This purpose-built accommodation retreat has 2 bedrooms and also a fully equipped kitchen. Furthermore, the house has a very comfortable living space. Slide back the large doors to the deck areas and open up the living spaces for relaxation and al fresco dining.
There is a private loop walking track behind the house. This bush track takes you to a seating area on the ridge on the other side, a great spot to take in the sunset and the fantastic Pacific Ocean views. After dark keep an ear out for the calls of the elusive Kiwi, our special (and rare) national icon.

We enjoyed the walks around the property and the information on all the other walks in the wider area. Took advantage of the food recommendations (fish and chips, cheese) and it was spot on. Really enjoyed our stay, and would like to come back and try some of the other properties.”
