Whangarei Maritime Festival:
Over the weekend 12 and 13 October you will be able to explore locally built boats. Have a chat to the dedicated owners as well as enjoy entertainment of all sorts. This is a super family friendly weekend! There are a great number of interactive activities for kids and adults.
This year there will be a Navy ship exhibiting and the festival is all about celebrating the regions maritime past, present and future. The maritime industry has and still is a very large part of Whangarei.
Join us to experience music, markets, nautical talks, boats on water an boats on land. There are loads of kids activities, great food, and special events.
We are bringing our own classic yacht which was built in Opua so stop by to say hi. We look forward to showing you around!
Island Sips’n Sounds
This free event takes place on Urupukapuka Island in the Bay of Islands and is a full day out.
Otehei Bay is the perfect family-friendly spot to relax and enjoy a classic kiwi day at the beach. Their fully licensed beachfront café and bar will be open for lunch with some delicious Long White cocktails and drink specials. Including their limited edition Hazy Lemonade – as well as coffee and ice cream to keep everyone fueled up.
Explore Group provides the ferry transport to the Island and docks in Otehei Bay. Live music and activities will entertain you and if you wish you can of course walk and explore the amazing Island while you’re there. Incredible views wherever you look!
